Be The Light

In Mark Chapter 4 we read the story of the lamp. Jesus asked “Would
anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket or under a bed. Of course not
a lamp is placed on a stand where its light will shine.”
In many ways, grandparents are like this light. For centuries grandparents
have had the opportunity to be the light in the lives of their grandchildren. I
guess you could say that Godly grandparents are like the light that shines
forth with the message of truth, hope, and love. I often hear stories of how
a grandma or grandpa was instrumental in the life of a now adult. As
grandparents, we must adjust our thinking to see life as an opportunity to
be a positive influence in the lives of others and not get hung up on the
spoils of life we choose. Matthew 5:16 says; “In the same way, let your light
shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your
Father in heaven.” Young people listen to what we say but the real lessons
are taught in what we do. Be a Godly light. Blessings my friends.
