“Going For a Ride in the Country”
I remember as a boy every now and then we would all pile in the back of our Plymouth station wagon and mom and dad would take us for a little excursion. Sometimes we would stop at a little fast serve restaurant in Logan across from the old high school and dad would tell us you can have two hamburgers and one French fry or two French fries and one hamburger. One of my brothers and I always felt like we could team up together so I would get two of one and he would get two of the other and then we would split them feeling like we had beaten the system. As a kid going for rides in the car was not necessarily something we looked forward to but as I look back on it, I cherish those memories. Maybe you have similar memories of spending time with your family taking a jaunt to a favorite restaurant. What makes all of this special is simply the memories that go with it. When I think of my spiritual life, and I recall the times that I was not living as I should have been and remember when I started trusting Jesus with my future. Those are precious thoughts. When I begin to reflect on my Christian memories it isas if the enemy tries to remind me of my life before I had accepted Jesus. I guess this is a normal part of life, but it should not be. Once we accept Jesus Christ into our life our past is exactly that, our past. We must now focus on the new things of life and as we reflect on the early years of our faith, we remember how precious it was that somebody took time to share Jesus with us. Never forget you too can be a part of making memories like this in a young person's life today or reflecting on them with an elderly person. Thank you my friends. Remember how much Jesus, loves you and desires to have a relationship with you as well.
Blessings.
