What is Prophecy and What Does it Mean to Us?
 
 
It is said that there are over 1200 prophecies and the Old Testament alone. The New Testament records many of those prophecies fulfilled and containing another 578, encompassing more than 1800 prophecies total in the Bible. There are various types of prophecies. Probably the most popular is, “End Time Prophecy”. However, there are many other types like the “Messianic Prophecies” dealing with the coming Christ. It is from this type of prophecy we find what we call the “Christmas Story.”  Luke 2 contains the passage of scripture we share every year about the birth of Jesus yet, there are many other messianic prophecies.

I’ve heard it said that prophecy validates the accuracy of the Bible. One thing for certain only God could have covered such a timespan with such accuracy.
