Imagine Being on "Apollo 10"
The Apollo 10 rocket mission of the United States was the fourth manned Apollo spacecraft. Three men flew toward the moon while one astronaut remained on the craft two entered the module that flew within 14.4 km of the moon. NASA had actually considered allowing Apollo 10 to land on the moon, but later decided it was better to have a test run first. When I think of Apollo 10 and Apollo 11 where Neil Armstrong actually was able to walk on the moon it reminds me of how many times in our lives, we get busy, and it seems like we just orbit around things never really sinking our feet into the actual landing zone if you will. Just think, had Apollo 10 been allowed to land on the moon it would have been John Young, Thomas Stafford or Gene Cernan, who would’ve walked on the moon instead of Neil Armstrong.
It is time for us to realize that God has a plan for our church. As Pastor, I am thrilled to have all of you working with me to build God ‘s kingdom. Apollo 10 was actually given the name the “F mission”. I’m not real sure what that stood for but I heard in school that an “F” was not a good grade. We must check our intentions and actions to be a church for God. It is not for us to orbit or think about sharing the ministry of the kingdom of God. It is for us to actually set our feet and begin to share his word of hope, healing, and Salvation with our world and especially the community around us. Let’s not just orbit but let’s get to work. Thank you for all you do.
Blessings, my friends.
