Advent Week Two: Peace

The second week of Advent is all about peace. This is recorded in Luke chapter 2 verse 14 and the Angel said, “glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace among those with whom he is pleased.” This is something much bigger than our understanding of peace. The intent of Christ was not only a peace that would reflect the idea of no war but would be a type of peace on earth as it is in heaven. The only way we have to experience this peace is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The popular Christmas song ‘I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day’ says, “and in despair, I bowed my head. There is no peace on earth I said, for hate is strong and mocks the song of peace on earth good -will to men, then pealed the bells more loud and deep God is not dead, nor does he sleep, the wrong shall fail the right prevail with peace on earth good-will to men.”
