Compassion

Compassion

Compassion lies at the heart of Christian teachings, reflecting God’s own love and mercy towards humanity. In Colossians 3:12, believers are urged to "clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience," embodying traits that mirror the nature of Christ. Similarly, the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:33-34 demonstrates active compassion, as the Samaritan goes out of his way to help a stranger in need. This narrative challenges us to transcend boundaries and show mercy, serving as a powerful call to action. Ephesians 4:32 also reinforces this ethos, encouraging us to "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you." These scriptures collectively inspire us to adopt a lifestyle of compassion, viewing and treating others with the same grace and forgiveness that we have received from God.
