Defending the Faith Pt. 2

Defending the Faith - Apologetics Part 2

Classical apologetics is a 2-step method that first establishes theism and then defends the specific specifics of Christianity. This approach relies heavily on philosophic arguments for the existence of God and historical evidence for the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Philosophical arguments include:
The cosmological argument which states that everything that begins to exist has a cause. The universe began to exist, so it must have a cause as identified by God.
The theological argument is the intricate design and order in the universe suggesting the existence of an intelligent designer.
The moral argument which is the existence of objective moral values pointing to a moral lawgiver.

Historical evidence for Christianity includes:
The reliability of the New Testament which would include manuscripts, archaeological findings, and historical consistency that supports the trustworthiness of the New Testament scriptures.
The resurrection of Jesus. These points include the empty tomb, his post-resurrection appearances, and the transformation of his disciples.

I will share more evidence in week three. It may help to watch a video on The Holy Lands and the evidence still there today. 1 Thessalonians 5:21. Blessings my friends.
