The Good Old Days
What is your favorite old time tv show? Mine would probably be Lassie or the old Disney specials on Sunday night because I knew it was the last reprieve before school the next day.
Somehow, life seemed so much simpler back then. Maybe part of that is because I'm an adult now instead of a young person. However, life constantly changes and like Martha Stewart once said, “when you are through changing, you're through.” One constant we can hold on to that has been proven over thousands of years is the Word of God. I cannot emphasize enough of the importance of getting into the Word of God. There is nothing that can take its place. The encouragement, advice, and support we find through God's Holy Word is life changing. It does concern me today of the number of professing Christians who hardly open their Bible except maybe if they remember to bring it on Sunday. We can be the generation in the church to turn that around. Before you pick up your phone to check your messages or begin to play on social media let's make sure that we've taken time to be in the Word of God. Social media in its various forms will never give you the support that you can find in God's Holy Word. Be faithful to God for he is a loving God and intends to have a best friend relationship with you. Amid challenging times, it is always promising to find the help and strength that God provides in his Word.
Blessings my friends.
