Navigating the Holidays
It’s often difficult to get through the holidays, especially when you’ve lost loved ones. The memories seem to be so prevalent. A past Thanksgiving meal or gathering that was so special. Maybe it’s a Christmas with a special gift that still brings joy. Sometimes though it’s just the memory of a simple laugh that you miss from that special someone. In the past I’ve experienced looking forward to special days only to let them slip by in frustration because of a flood of memories and the thought that on this side of Heaven I will never share with my loved ones again who have passed away. So, here’s my suggestion: do all you can to be an encouragement to others, this includes praying for them. Next, remember to celebrate those close friends and family you do have around you. Life is short, make the most of it!
