Welcome!

Here at Zanesville First Church of the Nazarene, we strive to create a place where people can meet Jesus,  engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. Join us for our Sunday services, life groups, or reach out for more information!

What To Expect

What time should I arrive?
Our Sunday morning services begin at 10:30am. We recommend arriving by 10:15 to make sure you have enough time to find a seat.

We also have Sunday morning small groups that start at 9:30am. We have two adult classes, a youth (6th-12th grade) class, and two children's classes.
Where do I park?
There are two parking lots in the front of the building with handicap spots available. If these two lots fill up there is overflow parking around the back. To get there follow the gravel path and take a left at the fork toward the back side of the building where you will see a shelter house.
What can I expect when I get there?
When you arrive, you will enter through the double doors closest to the brick retaining wall. You will be greeted by our welcome team who will help you find where you need to go and answer any questions you may have!

On your way into the sanctuary feel free to stop by our coffee bar run by our youth to raise money for upcoming trips and events. When you head in to the sanctuary you can find a seat anywhere that is not labeled as reserved!
What does a typical service look like?
A typical service will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes starting at 10:30 and ending around 11:45.

We generally open with a song of praise followed by announcements and our Mission's Money March where our kids walk around with cups collecting change to go toward missions efforts locally and globally. At this point the kids will be dismissed to our kids area for a lesson on their level.

We will then do 3-4 songs of worship followed by a 20-25 minute sermon. The sermon will be followed by a time of response generally consisting of prayer and a short song. We conclude our service with prayer over community prayer requests and singing the Doxology.
What happens after service?
After service is dismissed people often spend time in fellowship. The coffee bar will also be available at the conclusion of the service. We occasionally have special dinners and fundraisers following the service that are available to anyone.
What if I have kids?
On Sunday mornings during the service the kids will be dismissed following the Missions Money March. From there they will head over to "Waumba Land" or our kids area, where they will sing songs, do a craft, play games, and have a lesson on their level. As you enter the building our welcome team can show you where the kids area is so you will know where to find your kids and pick them up following the service.

For babies and toddlers we do have a nursery located right inside the main doors to the right. This space has toys, a changing table, and a private nursing station for anyone who needs it. There is also a TV in the nursery that will show the service so you can follow along. Nursery workers are available and will help you with whatever you may need.

Anyone working with minors within the building has been background checked and received child safety training.
Is the property handicap accessible?
Yes! There are handicap parking spots available in the top portion of our front parking lot. Our welcome team will be happy to assist you in any way needed. Our sanctuary and kids area are all located on the main floor of the building. The bathrooms on this level also are equipped with handicap stalls.
